Dover is going to miss me March 22, 2008

I am sad that Dover is not going to be able to come with me on my trip. I know that he will be in caring hands here at home with my mom and dad though. They will be watching him while I am gone. My parents are planning on going out of town a couple of times and will be needing dog sitters. If you would like to be added to the sitter list just let me know. He is really well behaved, I promise :) Who can say no to a face like this anyways?

This week I am house sitting for a couple that has 7 dogs. They only allow one inside and a second on occasion. The other 6 live in a shed with divided kennels with corresponding runs outside on a cement pad. Living out in the country there is plenty of room for them to run after they are let out but I usually stay outside so that they are less likely to run off. The other day I went by subway on my drive out and grabbed a sandwich for lunch. I planned on eating the sandwich outside on the tailgate of my truck since it was a nice day while watching the dogs which would take care of two tasks at once. I let the dogs out and then went to the truck to retrieve my sandwich and then realized that I had 8 dogs (I brought my dog Dover out with me) taking a great interest in what I had in my hand. After sitting on the tail gate and having each dog take a turn jumping on me I decided to make a dash for the greenhouse where I sat and ate my sandwich with 8 dogs all most knocking down the door to get to me. It was a strange experience.
